The main story is about a short-sighted mole called Morris who wakes up one spring morning and goes out into the world in search of somebody to love. He knows exactly what he's looking for but his poor eyesight makes it difficult to find and his mistakes as he stumbles along making make him wonderfully endearing. A picture book with heart.... Actually, lots of them. The first thing that struck me about this book was the lovely front cover dappled with colourful cut-out hearts. When you open the book that colours that show through the cut out front are revealed to be butterfly wings and it was this gorgeous beginning that made me pick the book out of the hundreds I see every day and start to flick through it.
