Moneyball by Michael Lewis is the real life story of how the Oakland Athletics baseball team (the equivalent size of say a Fulham in the Premier League) are constantly able to stay in contention and beat teams such as the New York Yankees (equivalent size of Man U/ Chelsea) on a payroll of about 1/7th the size.
