Advantages: burns well

Disadvantages: he has done nothing of interest

Why why oh why? is the question i find asking myself every time i see this book knocking about my room. Monty clearly has talent and he is obviously a big character within English cricket. It is also fair to say that he will be part of the game for a long time to come. But what exactly has he done to justify writing a book. It is not just Monty however, there seems to be a trend within English sports men to get a book on the shelves as quickly as anything nowadays. These people have not actually achieved anything, and Monty is a prime example of this. I see it as utter arrogance that these people think that people are going to choose to read about their lives. Who really cares about Monty's university days in Loughborough, not me. This is just one example of the infuriating trend of writing a book when you have done nothing.

Summary: a very dull book

Oh hes just a clean living bloke, leave him alone! lol. What do you mean he hasnt achieved anything though? Nothing scandalous or degrading? It makes for good reading, granted, but Monty Panesar has achieved a fair amount id say. Hes a bowler for England, that must count for something. Plus, there are plenty of sensationalist and exhibitionist sports people out there, Gazza, Merson, Flintoff to name a few, and become a bit annoying. I agree with you that he might not be book material though!
