Advantages: Great fun book
Disadvantages: small text
Mr Birthday is another character who starts in the new collection of Mr Men books with added sparkle.
He is a square shape and blue in colour. He wears red shoes and a red and yellow stripy party hat.
THE STORY
The story begins by telling us that the best thing Mr Birthday enjoys about birthdays is the parties that is why he always wears his party hat. It tells us that he likes to organise parties for everyone that he knows.
The story goes on to tell us about some of the parties he has organised and who they were for.
Mr Birthday gets reminded about a very special birthday which is happening the following week and spend ages trying to work out whose birthday it is and why he had forgotten.
Whose birthday is it and will Mr Birthday need to arrange another party?
MY OPINION
This is another story in the collection which is loved in my house.
The book is set out in the usual way with the text being on the left hand pages and the nice bright pictures on the right.
My children love reading about the parties and the games that they all play but it does lead to them discussing what they want for their birthday parties!
The story is very easy to read and to follow.
I feel that if the writing was bigger then it would encourage my son and maybe other children to try to read the words as well but with it being so small it puts them off.
INFO
The book was written by Roger Hargreaves and published in 2006 by Egmont Limited.
The retail price for this book is £2.50 which I feel is a bargain for such an enjoyable reading book.
