Mr Men books have been around since 1971 when Roger Hargreaves published the first of the series: Mr Tickle. The Little Miss series subsequently appeared in 1981 and both series of books have been growing ever since. They have been so popular that his son Adam continued his work beyond his death in 1988 and the rights to the books were sold in 2004 for a staggering £28 million. Mr Greedy is the second outing of the original series of Mr Men. Mr Greedy lives in aptly named Fatland in a roly poly house and he is a pink happy chap with a rather large tummy. He lives for food and dreams of it and lives for it. We see Mr Greedy eating a huge ... Read the complete review

As a young child the Mr Men and Little Miss series of books were always a firm favourite of mine. They were so popular in my house that I had the teddies, the bedding, the curtains, posters, and mugs. I could go on but I'll stop. Come to think of it just last Christmas my mum bought me a Little Miss towel. Anyway I digress but the point I am trying to make is that once you start reading these books your love for them just doesn't end and I think that it is this that has made the series so popular. Mr Greedy is number 2 in the Mr Men series, which contains 46 books written by Roger Hargreaves and later his son Adam. Mr Greedy is a strange shaped pink character ... Read the complete review

When I was younger, I always used to take Mr Men and Little Miss books into school for the teacher to read to the class at the end of the day. I'd passed them on to my silbings however, and recently stumbled across them when I was holidaying. I decided to give some a read, and opened up book numbe 2, 'Mr Greedy'. Mr Greedy is nothing more than a mis-shapen pink blob with a rather large stomach and an equally large appetite. Mr Greedy loves nothing more than eating. In his story, Mr Greedy enters a dark cave when he finds the most collosal foods in the Giant's home, and decides to tuck in. When the Giant catches him, he promises to let Mr Greedy go if he was ... Mr Greedy is number 2 in the Mr Man collection. He is a rounded shape and has a very large tummy. He is a bright pink colour. The cover of the book is white and has a picture of Mr Greedy and the title above this in black lettering. The back cover of the book is also white and has smaller picture of the other characters available in the collection. THE STORY The book begins by telling us that Mr Greedy loved to eat, but the problem is that the more he ate the fatter he became and then the more hungry he would become and so he still ate more. He lives in a house which they describe as a roly-poly sort of house, very much like Mr Greedy. ... Read the complete review

As a child I used to love the 'Mr Men' series of books, and to this day I can still recall a lot of the original text. Written by Roger Hargreaves, the stories are timeless classics which are as popular today as they ever were. When my nephew is visiting, the Mr Men books inevitably make an appearance, and my review today focusses on 'Mr Greedy' - the second in the forty-eight book series, written in 1971. The story begins with a colourful illustration which shows our eponymous hero eating a slice of cake. Mr Greedy his an absolutely huge belly, and looks like he could do with losing a bit of weight. After going for a long walk, Greedy finds a ... Read the complete review
