As part of a new wave of Mr Men adventures, Adam Hargreaves, son of Roger Hargreaves, the creator of the original Mr Men, published Mr Jelly and the Pirates. The Mr Men originated in 1971, followed a decade later by the Little Miss series, and following Roger's death in 1988, Adam continued to publish work Roger had already done, as well as creating some new ones within the last ten years or so. Mr Jelly is pink and wobbly. He has a jelly-shape to him and wibble wobbles everywhere. The background of the book here is blue, as opposed to the original white of the Mr Men series. Mr Jelly and the pirates is a new collection of Mr Men books with added sparkle. Mr Jelly s a wobbly pink shaped character. The cover of the book is blue and has a picture of Mr Jelly wearing a red and white bandana on his head standing by an open treasure chest and the treasure is a glittery gold colour. The title of the book is at the top on black and yellow lettering. The back cover of the book is white and has small pictures showing other books available in the 'added sparkle' collection.
