... them. The book in question I actually found in my Christmas stocking - it's a good job Santa knows what I want isn't it? The front cover of this book shows a very Christmassy picture of Mr Happy and Mr Mean wading through the snow with a sledge full of wrapped presents. The words Mr Men A Christmas Carol are then written in green and red lettering to make it seem even more festive. When you turn the book over 18 small book front pictures showing all the other books in the collection that you can purchase meet you. ...more

I thought it best to get all of my Christmas reviews out of the way during the festive season in order to make room for my New Year reviews on the many films, books and TV box sets that I got for Christmas. That does mean however that for the present there is going to be a collection of reviews regarding Christmas books, Christmas films, chocolates and party food. My first review in this 'collection' is going to be one of the Mr Men 'A Christmas Carol' book. Mr Men 'A Christmas Carol' is one of 18 stories in the Mr Men and Little Miss books with added Sparkle collection. The reason these books are called with added sparkle is the fact that all of the front ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A Christmas Carol - Mr Men style! (422 words)

There are various versions and different takes on the classic Dickensian tale of A Christmas Carol, and this one is the Mr Men version, told in typical and familiar Mr Men style. It is part of the 'With Added Sparkle' collection of Mr Men books. The story tells of Mr Mean and his piggy bank factory. Mr Mean is the meanest person alive, and you'll know that if you have read the 'Mr Mean' book. He owns a piggy bank factory and has several unhappy staff working there, but whenever they complain to him, he always points out Mr Happy, who also works there and is a model employee: he never complains and is always happy. Little Miss Sunshine comes to ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Mr. Men: A Christmas Carol - Roger Hargreaves: A Christmas Carol Mr Men Style! (744 words)

A Christmas Carol is a lovely little book in the Mr Men collection 'With added Sparkle'. The cover of the book has a picture of Mr Happy and Mr Mean pulling a sleigh full of presents and the title above this in green and red lettering. The back cover of the book is white and has small pictures showing other titles available in this collection. The book begins by asking us if Mr Mean has any money, we find out that he has lots which he keeps hidden under his floorboards. He hardly spends any of his money and all he buys to eat for every meal is a can of beans. He even eats them cold as he is too mean to put his cooker on. Mr Mean has all of this ...  Read the complete review
