Little Miss KarenUK had an opinion on everything. She was always sniffing soaps, studying shower gels and comparing the prices of shampoos. Little Miss KarenUK was the sort of person who, when presented with her nicely wrapped-up birthday gifts, would write an opinion on the benefits of one wrapping paper over another and the pros and cons of silver ribbons. Little Miss KarenUK was the sort of person who, if taken out to see a play, would be sat there in the front row with a notebook, to ensure her review was accurate. This unnerved some seasoned performers, who were regularly seen mouthing obscenities in her general direction. ... Read the complete review

Timeless, that is the word I would use to describe the Mr.Men books. Before you read on stop and think how many of the Mr. Men you can name, it’s even harder than the seven dwarfs! When I look at the Mr. Men library on our shelf it brings back so many memories from the time my own children were small. They loved to have the stories read to them and the more familiar they became the more they loved them! Isn’t it wonderful that children never tire of hearing the same stories over and over again? When they were older they enjoyed reading the stories to themselves or even to me if I was very good! Now our youngest foster child (oh so nearly six ... Read the complete review

I'm a 26 year old primary school teacher, and although I don't read many Mr. Men books to the children in my class, I too agree that they are classics. I remember reading the series of books when I was a child, and it makes me very happy to say that I have started reading them to my own daughter, who is 2 in October. Although she cannot yet understand the stories or social morals behind them, she loves the simple felt-tip style drawings and the fact that they are small enough for her to look at herself. The Mr. Men themselves are usually just one colour, and have a distingusihing feature to help identify them from the others, eg. Mr. Bump's bandage, ... Read the complete review

I can remember sitting in assembly as a four year waiting excitedly to hear another story. Every morning our headmaster would read us another Mr Men story. I can still remember me sat on the floor with my curly hair in ribbons giggling away with my friends at Mr Tickle and the rest of the gang. They were created in the 70’s by genius Roger Hargreaves. I guarantee most people could name at least one of the wonderful Mr Men. I am sad and can name just about every one. For those of you who are not Mr men literate I will explain each ones appearance. Mr Tickle – He is orange with big arms, big enough to tickle all girls and boys. He ... Read the complete review

"Mr.Men" books have been around for years, written and illustrated by Giles Hargreaves they have provided great entertainment and fun for children. "Mr.Men" are best known for being small handy sized paper back Books, always pocket money priced, enabling children to acquire the whole collection. The stories are simple so most children can understand them. As for the illustrations they are bright, colourful and very simply drawn. But my opinion is not of the paper back versions but of a "Mr.Man" Book that actually stands up on its own. My son was given "Mr.Tickle" for christmas. Inside ... Read the complete review
