Mr Strong is number 26 in the MR Men collection. He is square in shape and is red and he wears a green hat. The cover of the book is white with a picture of Mr Strong and the title in black letters above this and the back cover is also white and has smaller pictures showing the other characters available in the collection. THE STORY The book begins by telling us that Mr Strong is the strongest person in the whole world. He is so strong that not only can he bend an iron bar he can also tie a knot in it. Mr Strong is the 26th of the popular Mr Men children's books written and illustrated by Roger Hargreaves. The books were a favourite of mine when I was a child, and now my son loves them as well. The author started writing them in 1971 after his son asked him what a tickle looked like and he drew it, resulting in the first book in the series, Mr Tickle. Mr Strong is a red square shape, with a small green hat. In the story, we are told that he can bend an iron bar and put a knot in it, and throw a cannonball like we could throw a bouncy ball. However, sometimes, being strong is not the best thing as he knocks over trees and breaks the door of his house. His ... Read the complete review

Mr Strong is a character in the Mr Men collection of books written first by Roger Hargreaves and the later by his son Adam. The collection contains 46 stories with Mr Strong being number 26. Mr Strong is a red square shaped character that oozes strength. He has a green hat perched on his had and always has a broad smile on his face. This picture of Mr Strong can be found on the front of the book, which is itself square and white. Mr Strong's name is then printed in bold block capitals above his head. The reverse of the book holds smaller pictures of all the other Mr Men characters in the series along with their names and numbers. This is a great little ... Read the complete review

If you have already read my review on MR. Funny, then you will know that I love the MR. Men books, and so I have decided to dig out another one of my favourite children's books and review it, so that hopefully some other people may buy them for their kids and the books will live on for generations to come. (And I get some money for writing this. Lol) MR. Strong is the 26th of the MR Men books written by Roger Hargreaves. The books in the MR men collection are aimed at very young children, but I'm 15 at the moment and I still love them! The front cover of the book is white, with a picture of MR Strong, a red square shaped character with a ... Read the complete review

'Mr Strong' is number 26 in the very popular Mr Men series by Roger Hargreaves. The main character of the book, Mr Strong himself, is so strong that he can hammer nails into the wall just by tapping them with his finger! Mr Strong's strength can be to his disadvantage, as he frequently breaks things without meaning to but one day he uses his strength to help a farmer whose field is on fire, and in doing so gains a reward which comes in very handy! There are some very funny moments in this book, such as when Mr Strong bumps into a tree and the tree trunk snaps in half. The simple, bright illustrations, which are on the right of every double page, are perfect in ... Read the complete review
