Following the immense success of the Mr Men and Little Miss series, and the continuance of it by Adam Hargreaves after the death of his father, the original creator, Roger Hargreaves, Adam decided to create a new series of books featuring the Mr Men and Little Miss and their adventures. One of the first of these, published in 2005, featured the first ever Mr Man, Mr Tickle, and his adventures with a dragon. Mr Men books have been around since 1971 when Roger Hargreaves published the first of the series: Mr Tickle. The Little Miss series subsequently appeared in 1981 and both series of books have been growing ever since. They have been so popular that his son Adam continued his work beyond his death in 1988 and the rights to the books were sold in 2004 for a staggering £28 million. The new owners have since published new and revamped stories for the modern market although they are still written and illustrated by Adam Hargreaves. Mr Tickle and the Dragon is a new range of Mr Men and Little Miss books which have 'added sparkle' Mr Tickle is a circle shape with very long skinny arms and he is orange in colour and wears a small blue hat. THE STORY The story begins with Mr Tickle returning to his home after a good day of tickling people to find that his house has been burnt down. He finds out that Mr Funny's car house and also Mr Clever's house has also been burnt down so he goes off to investigate.
