The 11th book in Roger Hargreaves' Mr Men series features an emotion and a disposition: Mr Uppity. Touching on a negative emotion is something that Hargreaves often does in the jobs, but this is usually a sub-character that the main character has in his story, for example, Mr Miserable was in the Mr Happy book. I like this book as it shows that even the most uppity people can be happier and less uppity! Mr Uppity is a dark purple colour. He wears a black top hat and a monocle, and walks around with his nose up, looking down it at people. He is mean, and has no reason to be, because he is the richest person and the best treated. The Mr Men series of books contains 46 stories within it. The first 43 books were written by Roger Hargreaves and the final three books by his son Adam. They are simple children's stories that have been loved for a long time and will probably be loved forever. Mr Uppityf is number 11 in the series and therefore was written by Roger Hargreaves. The front of the book like all the others in the series is white with a picture of the named character and then his name in black block capitals above it. Mr Uppity is number 11 in the Mr Men collection. He Is a round shaped man and has a large fat nose, he is a brown colour and also wears a black top hat and a monocle. The cover of the book is white and has a picture of Mr uppity and the title above this is black lettering. The back cover of the book is also white and has small pictures showing the other characters available in the collection. THE STORY The book starts by telling us that Mr uppity is probably the rudest man in the world. He is rude to everyone and anything and in Bigtown where his lives he has no friends as he is so rude.
