Advantages: Great kids' book
Disadvantages: None
Mr Wrong is the 34th of the popular Mr Men children's books written and illustrated by Roger Hargreaves. The books were a favourite of mine when I was a child, and now my son loves them as well. The author started writing them in 1971 after his son asked him what a tickle looked like and he drew it, resulting in the first book in the series, Mr Tickle.
Mr Worry is an oval shape, deep pink, verging on purple. He wears odd coloured shoes, odd coloured gloves, and a flowerpot for a hat! He always gets things wrong. In the story, he gets it wrong when making his breakfast and mistakes the postman for the doctor. Then he meets Mr Right, identical to Mr Wrong but he gets everything right! Can Mr Right right Mr Wrong? (whew, what a mouthful!)
This is a rather funny book. While it does show that even if you are doing things wrong, it can be fixed, it also shows you that if you know how to do things right, it can be nice to show someone who doesn't. But the main thing here is the funny side of the story and how ridiculous Mr Wrong looks! The illustrations are vibrant and colourful, and are on the right hand pages, and the writing is on the left hand pages.
The Mr Men books retail at £2.50 each and are available from most bookshops. I recommend them all as well as the Little Miss books.
