The author Mavis cheek is living proof that you do not have to pass your eleven plus first time around to go on to great heights ! Mavis Cheek was born in Wimbledon, she left Secondary Modern school at the tender age of sixteen and went out to earn her living. A few years later Cheek decided to go back to college and she graduated with distinction in Arts, this inspired her to take up writing seriously and since then she has written a number of novels which include `Mrs Fytton's Country Life`. Angela Fytton is pretty much superwoman. She had a degree from Cambridge, a gorgeous husband, 2 healthy intelligent children, a large beautiful house. She is also a good businesswoman and partner in her husband’s company. Yet, with all this she still manages to be a bit of a “bedroom vamp” (her words). Everything seems perfect.
