... Minder. The Mum Minder is all about Sadie. Her mum is a child-minder, though when she falls sick, it is up to Sadie to mind her mum! Can the little nine year old take care of her mum and all the babies? Although this is aimed at young children, it does make a good light read for others. Sadie's Mum is a child-minder. But when her Mum gets ill in the holidays, someone has to take all the children, and so the different parents take turns at trying to help Sadie's mum out, taking the children to their workplaces, much to their bosses' surprise and horror. It's an entertaining look through Sadie's eyes as they get passed around to the different worlkplaces, including an office, a sweet shop and a police station! Sadie is eight, and I think this book is intended for around that age. It is a bit shorter than most of Jacqueline Wilson's books, and I think most eight year olds could gallop through it rather than needing it read to them. ...
