Wow, what a fantastic children's book. We read this book at least once a week in my house. Mungo and the Picture Book Pirates by Timothy Knapman and Adam Stower is a story about Mungo a little boy who loves pirates. He has a favourite book called "The Seafaring Adventures of Captain Horatio Fleet. Captain Horatio Fleet is a dashing, daring, dazzling hero, who rescues Admiral Mainbrace and cabin girl Nora from Barnacle Bill and his scurvy pirates! Mungo's Mum has to read this book every night. My son has really entered into the spirit of the library, opting to borrow several books at every visit and Mungo and the Picture Book Pirates was one of the latest. His school have this book too and he recognised it as having read there before which was a good start as he obviously really enjoyed it enough to borrow it again. Mungo is a young boy who has a favourite story book for bedtime "The Seafaring Adventures of Captain Horatio Fleet". He makes his mum read it five times every night!
