*The Author* Colin Bateman was born In Northern Ireland 1962. Colin himself says he never shone at school, however always had a love of reading. He also loved writing science fiction stories. At 15 his dad took him to the editor of the local newspaper and after writing a 300 word essay on why he wanted to be a reporter he was offered a job. His headmaster advised against taking the job and staying on at school. He ignored this advice and took a one year shorthand and typing course before taking up the job as reporter. Belfast Confidential - Colin Bateman
by freediveheaven - written on 01/03/07 (Very useful, 217 readings)
Rating:
This is the seventh book in the series from Colin Bateman following the exploits of Belfast journalist Dan Starkey. For those who have not read any of the previous books I would not recommend starting with this one as the character is quite well developed by now and it would be better to start off with reading Divorcing Jack which is the first in the series. The Plot The opening of the book finds Starkey moving in to a new house with his longsuffering wife Patricia. His best mate Mouse is also with him supposedly helping out however in reality all he succeeds in doing is killing next doors cat. Having buried the dead moggie the two soon find themselves in a pub getting ...

Shooting Sean - Colin Bateman

after exchanging it for a book, which I was given for my birthday, which I already had. I didn’t really know what to expect – I hadn’t ever heard of Colin Bateman before, and the only thing I knew was that someone had told me Divorcing Jack was a very funny film. I decided to take a chance on something I hadn’t heard of before, and I’m glad I did. *MINOR SPOLIER ALERT – some of the plot given away, but nothing to spoil enjoyment of book, just to give you a good impression of the story* As I mentioned before, the central character is Dan Starkey, a thirty-something journalist from Belfast. He is given the task of writing a book on ...
