Advantages: easy read, characters,

Disadvantages: could do with some extra backstory on character relationships

Dorothy writes in a very easy to read style, a perfect poolside companion. Though it makes for light reading, the story is one of pure emotion. We follow our heroine, Kamryn on a life changing journey, with flashes back to the past to help explain the present. The flashbacks are something Dorothy does often (read Goodnight Beautiful) and she does to great effect. Some flashbacks can slow a story down, drag out the plot line and bore you into putting the book down, but Dorothy has managed to make it work, and work well!
The story moves quickly, keeping you entertained and hooked. The characters are engaging, and you cannot help but say 'awe' whenever the adorable Tegan speaks or acts. The lead character, Kamryn, is relatable and endearing. Koomson understands her characters and they help to keep the plot moving along. The story is emotional and can bring you to tears of sorrow or joy several times. Light hearted laughter for a little relief and some serious roller-coasting emotion all mixed into one great book.

Read in about two weeks, a swift, enjoyable read for fans of the genre and author.
