Advantages: A bit of light relief.

Disadvantages: None!

As with most of my more recent book reviews they seem to start in the aisle's of my local Asda. This is no exception. Even though I have around 30 books piled up ready for my reading pleasure I still had to purchase another when faced with a £1.00 price tag, this is the book I will now review.

The book I will now review is "My best friends life by Shari Low".

The premise of the story is as follows -

Ginny and Roxy are best friends. Born on the same day and being cousins, they have grew up together. Ginny is quite and shy and seemingly dominated by Roxy. Roxy is domineering, adventurous and always on the lookout for the next bit of excitement and fun.

Roxy returns to her hometown from her trendy London job and studio apartment, she is claiming she needs sanctuary from her latest romance catastrophe, so decides to stay with Ginny, her mum and Roxy's mum who now live together.

Ginny is stuck in a rut! She is 27 years old, still lives with her mum, works with her mum at the local library and has been with the same man since leaving school, this is now or never so Ginny offers to swop lives with Roxy for a month to give them both what they are needing, sanctuary and excitement.

And this is what the rest of the book is about. Well not quite, what I have failed to reveal is the fact that the story is set around Roxy's job... which just happens to be a high class prostitute in the now legalised brothels that are run in London.

I will not reveal anymore of the storyline, as in fairness it does get a bit fruity in places, but never once does it get smutty.
The story shows the stereotyped main characters do a complete turnaround and finally realising they have not been living the lives that they wanted, but at least they don't want each others lives.

This book in a word is fantastic! The entire story is told day by and each chapter is around the other person. The chapters themselves always finish at a crucial time, making you desperate to find out what has happened. Interspersed in the book are random pages of report cards and library cards of many of the characters in the book and not always about the main two characters. This in turn gives you more of an incite into the characters and also why some of them act the way they do.

This book had me in fits of laughter from start to finish, and I practically ate this book, managing to read it in a day and a half, not once actually wanting to put it down, but my life unfortunately does sometimes get in the way or else it might have only taken me a few hours! There are a few saucy bits in this book, but instead of it feeling like porn it is made to feel as comical as the rest of the book.

This book comes highly recommended (by me!), this is a much deserved bit of light relief from all the "true" story books, this is guaranteed to make anyone laugh!
