Advantages: A Great Read

Disadvantages: Cannot put the book down and everyone wants to borrow it!

This is am amazing book I read a few years ago, it had me hooked from the begining and I have read it numberous times, it was this book that opened my eyes to Jodi Picoult as a writter and since reading "My Sisters Keeper" I have read all of her books.

The writer tells the story through a number of characters and sometimes repeats the same event firstly with one character telling there version of events then in the next chapter switching to another character to tell the story from there perspective.

The main plot in the story is about a family trying to save the life of there oldest daughter but "creating" a second child as a perfect donor but as the second child Anna grows up she makes a decition to free herself by means of medical emansipation to stop her being "spare parts" for her sister. The story follows the familys journey through this tough time with twists and turns through out.

As a seperate plot we also see into the life of Anna's Lawyer and "the one that got away" the woman appointed the role or Anna's guardian.

I am not an emotional person but when I reached the end of this book a cold wave went through me, the goose bumps rose and the tears welled, I have never been moved like that by a book. I loaned this book to my sister and I remember her sitting in the back seat of our mums car and she burst into tears, I turned to her and said "I guess you're at the end then"

Summary: My favorite book of all time
