On 23rd April 1955 Chelsea beat Sheff Wed 3-0 to win the then Division One title. That was 9 years and 3 days before I was born. On 30th April 2005 Chelsea beat Bolton 2-0 to win the Premiership for only their second top flight title; a week and 50 years since their last success and in Jose Mourinho’s first season in charge of the club. I’ve been a Chelsea supporter from the age of about 6 when I watched, for the first time, the 1970 FA Cup Final where we beat Leeds Utd in a replay at Old Trafford. In that game the legendary Peter Osgood scored with a fabulous diving header which thereafter was known as ‘the flying hammer’. This is where my love ...
