The “Mystery of the Yellow Room” was written by Gaston Leroux in 1892 who also wrote “The Phantom of the Opera”. He is considered in France a bit like Harry Potter. He is a journalist and created the detective Rouletabille (literal meaning in English is “roll your marble”) who is the main character of his novels and who will investigate many crimes. It is an excellent book. I read it not long ago again and it still has the same grip on me as when I was 16.
