Advantages: Great read
Disadvantages: None
This book is written by Katie Kray the ex wife of the legendary gangster Ronnie Kray. Because of Ronnie Katie gained access to some of Britain's toughest prisons to interview people doing life. There are 8 stories in this book ranging from young girls to hardened criminals, all the stories are completely true and each story is the words of the convict. The 8 lifers in the book are James Dowsett jailed for life after a contract killing, Harry Roberts who murdered 3 policemen, Linda Calvey who committed a crime of passion. Colin Richards cold-blooded murder, Charlie Smith who did a double murder, Avril Gregory who took the life of a young boy, Richard John Dennick murdered a village priest in cold blood and Sue butterworth cold-blooded murder. Not all these people are cold-blooded murderers for example James Dowsett's story is quite a convinced one, after reading his story I believe he is innocent. But others such as Harry Roberts are just brutal murderers, he shot three policemen at point blank range, and admits freely that he did it, he doesn't show remorse for what he has done. This is a fantastic book and it gives you a great insight into the prison life, and the people who they house. The book is great for anybody interested in how people become murderers, or if you just have an interest in the subject. A great read.
