** Synopsis**

During a routine armed robbery, Matt Franklin and his companions attempt to rob a Securicor van. During a frightening turn of events two men are shot dead and a third fatally wounded.

During the following days Matt is taken on a rollercoaster ride to find out why he has turned into someone's prey for this failed robbery and how are terrorists, British Government and Army involved.

Following a terrifying series of events Franklin, confronts his predator in London's Underground to find the answers he has sought.

** The character**
There are a number of characters that are intertwined in this novel; however, the main character whose story is followed is Matt Franklin, an intelligent career criminal whose character grows in the story lines.

**Recommendation**

I found Hutson has given and forceful novel whose commanding delivery and fast action delivery leading me to wanting more. The writing is passionate and provides gore in abundance. I felt some of the descriptive writing of places did not take anything away from the storyline.

I found Franklin immediately identified as a career criminal, but the depth of his intelligence and commanding persona grows through the pages whilst his determination to get to find the answers he needs.

I thought this was refreshing as the usually a hero is 'straight laced and very polished' it was great change to have a flawed career criminal has a hero. I found myself routing for the bad guy to win in the end

I also found the interlinking story of terrorism and a governmental body cover up did make me question we really know what is going on in our country.

Considering this is the first Hutson novel I have read, I found it great combination of conspiracy theories, violence and action. Overall a great read and I will certain be reading more of Huston's work.
