There are many myths about the nineteen-sixties in Britain. Namely that it was the era of free love and ground breaking mainstream fashion and music. It is also that if you remember them, you weren't there. Dominic Sandbrook evidently knows a lot about this crucial period in British history. Perhaps crucially, he wasn't even born until well after it, so he seems to approach his subject matter with a rigorous intellectual critique of assumed knowledge and cultural mythology.
