Advantages: real world example

Disadvantages: not for the beginner

This works like a compilation, by bringing the best of the current crop of web designers out there together into one book and CD.

People like Yugo Nakamura ( yugop.com), Joshua Davis (praystaion.com) and Joel Baumann from tomato all tell them a little bit about themselves and what they do before launching into explaining a technique. The techniques that you are exposed to vary from fairly simple visual effects and animation, through animation using actionscript, 3d techniques and more. They all use real world examples of their work to explain the techniques, and also supplying the original editable flash file on the CD (which also contains video interviews!)

Because it does deal with actionscripting, and isn't as such extension of the manual you should already have a reasonable understanding of flash, including some action scripting

To conclude this book provides inspiration for flash designers and developers- helping push users with an intermediate knowledge of flash that bit further (it also provides you with some interesting URLs to visit and explore)
