After having read a review on dooyoo for the twilight film and buying it, it was then that I became interested in he twilight series of books and loving them even more than the film itself which is odd for me as I am not normally a book lover as I lose interests very quickly, but this has held my interest completely, even when I am not reading it I am thinking about the story and impatient to get back to it.

New moon is the second installment from the author Stephenie Meyer, the first being twilight, the third eclipse and the final one being breaking dawn. I am now going to start eclipse after being hooked to the first two and wanting to find out how the story continues right to the end. I purchased new moon from amazon and it was priced around £4 which I thought was a real bargain.

For anyone who has not heard of these and is not up to date with the story I will give a little background without trying to give too much away.

The main person in the story is Bella Swan, she moves to Forks to live with her father and eventually meets Edward Cullen who she falls deeply in love with, but he has a little problem that creates trouble for their relationship...he is a vampire. Even when Bella finds out what he is it makes no difference to her and still wants to be with him. They have their ups and downs but in new moon Edward feels they have to part so that she stays safe, she takes this very hard and after time she starts a friendship with Jacob Black who starts to love her but Bella cannot give him anymore than friendship. The pair do grow a special bond and they stay very close, even when she finds out that he too has a secret of his own...he is a werewolf who's an enemy of the vampire which creates problems when Edward finally shows up again...can she have relationships with both?

I was not as sure of this book as I was the first as I knew it did not have Edward Cullen and his famiy in it as much and they were what drew me in about the first, but the growing friendship with Jacob was just as interesting for me, also this book has more action in it.

A lot of people are saying these books are mainly for teenagers, but I am 34 and I love them. They are about a love story mainly but they each have some adventure and loads of emotional ups and downs that you end up feeling yourself too. The author writes in a style that maks you believe that you are Bella and you yourself are going through these things, I ended up crying when she was looking for edward trying to save him in time, it is a very powerfull story.

The only problem I have is when I watched the twilight dvd first it had a lot of differences to the twilight book and some information was left out about the Cullen family which I thought was vital to the story and I just hope they dont do that with new moon. It is at cinemas now and I will be very dissapointed if it is not the same as the book as there are certain things I would like to see. Also Bella did not come accross in the first film as she did in the book, I feel she is more timid and insecure and I did not get that from her on film, I hope she portrays that in the second.

I absolutly loved this book, and as from tonight when my daughter is tucked up in bed I will start eclipse and get lost again in this magical and mythical world Stephenie Meyer has created.
