I own many cookbooks, most of which I have barely looked at let alone cooked from but I have to say Nigella Express is barely off my book stand. I love this book. She doesn't use millions of fancy ingredients and the recipes are incredibly simple to follow. In addition as the title suggests most recipes are quick, designed for busy people like myself with little time to spare slaving away in a kitchen for hours on end. Most recipes only take around 30 minutes. Perfect! I've cooked Quesdaillas, green curry, chilli dishes and more and are all mega tasty. But by far my favourite recipes are the cakes and treats, really quick, all using ... Read the complete review

Nigella Lawson is, first and foremost, a fantastic writer; the simple act of reading her books is usually a sensual experience, in which the aroma and ftexture of the recipes are almost tangible. Nigella is also a self-proclaimed full-fat fanatic; her books do not usually feature quick fixes or shortcuts, so I was apprehensive that the recipes in this book might not contain the usual depth and flavour that one comes to expect from Ms. Lawson. Happily, this book does not disappoint; a quick and egg-free chocolate mousse, a fast and feisty thai green curry and gorgeous mustardy chops with gnocci are all featured. Having tried these out personally, I can ... Read the complete review

How many cookbooks do you have sitting on your bookshelf that never get used? Or how many do you have that you only use for 1 or 2 recipes? If you are anything like me the answer is quite a lot! Most of the recipe books I have I only use a few of the recipes until I bought this book - Nigella Express. Now the problem is with Nigella that often people either love her or hate her! In fact I don't think I have come across many people who don't get annoyed with the way she cooks and loves her food! We watched Nigella Express on television last year and despite being annoyed by the contrived family situations in the programme actually thought the food looked ... Read the complete review

I have never been known in my family as a good cook. This is less due to my lack of ability in the kitchen, more my lack of effort. I have never had the patience to mess around with pastry and other such time consuming things - I'd much rather make something quick but equally delicious. Knowing this, my Mum bought me Nigella Express last Christmas and I have to hand it to her - it was spot on! As Nigella says in the intro `This is, as the title makes clear, a book about fast food, but it is a book about fast food for those who love eating. Perhaps that's self-evident: How could I write any other sort?" As such all the recipes in this book are as hassle free as ... Read the complete review

Firstly I have to say I have about 8 cook books in my kitchen cupboard, mostly received from family as I wanted to be a good cook, but if they were lucky I have probably cooked one thing out of them. Some of them just have so many words and so much ingredients that I have never heard of, that I just find them impossible to use, I also find the ones without pictures a bit useless too as I need a guide to compare to, to know what I am aiming for. Now when I started watching Nigella cooking on TV, I just found it amazing that there are simple things to cook out there, she made it interesting, gave a background reason as to why she was cooking this ...
