The author seems to have some hang up about flowers, as one or another pop up alot, but, not always seeming to fit the short story it is in. He has a go at a bit of erotica in a couple, but it is so wierd, even the worst (or best) fetishist wouldn't enjoy the episodes. I always rate books I read by asking myself..."if this were a movie, would it be worth seeing?" In this case, a big fat NO! Even if made for prime-time tv, this just wouldn't work. So...more |

It's not very often I choose a "scary" book to read, but the blurb on the back of the cover really sold me on this one! The Nightmare Chronicles is a selection of short stories. Although they are all supposed to stem from the very first one..... This book wasn't enough to give me nightmares myself, often being sooooooo disjointed you totally lose any flow at all!! The author seems to have some hang up about flowers, as one or another pop up alot, but, not always seeming to fit the short story it is in.
