Nights in Rodanthe is a novel by Nicholas Sparks (author of The Notebook and A Walk to Remember). Like some of the other Nicholas Sparks novels it has recently been turned into a film. The story is set in North Carolina, in the same way as all other Nicholas Sparks novels. It follows Adrienne Willis, a divorced mother who is going to look after a friends B&B while her children stay with their dad. Paul Flanner is a surgeon and a divorced father who has come to Rodanthe to settle an issue with a patients husband. He ends up staying in the B&B being catered for by Adrienne. The two fall in love while a storm brews outside. At the end of Paul's stay the couple realise that they have to part ways and continue on with their lives while hoping to meet again.
Parts of this story are based on the real life events of Nicholas Sparks life, this clearly shows in the emotions that are injected into the story making it a thoroughly enjoyable book.
I have always been a fan of Nicholas Sparks work and I find that my emotions are always heightened while reading one of the books. Nights in Rodanthe was no exception and has actually become one of my favourite Nicholas Sparks books. I was unable to put this book down and finished it in one day!
I would recommend this book for anyone that likes a decent romance novel, especially if they like a bit of a twist.
