Premium Review Nimitz Class - Patrick Robinson: Submarine Thriller (503 words)
by - written on 22/09/09 (Very useful, 44 readings)
Rating:

Nimitz Class is written by Sunday Times bestselling author Patrick Robinson who has written a number of military thrillers. I had previously read HMS Unseen which was also written by Robinson, Nimitz Class is the prequel to that book. When an Aircraft Carrier containing 6000 American troops is obliterated by a nuclear explosion, the senior military tell the public that this was a terrible accident. But as suspicions begin to grow and their intelligence is gathered it becomes apparent that this accident was in fact a terrorist attack by an undetected submarine. And so the race is on to find out who has committed this terrible atrocity and stop them from doing ...  Read the complete review

This book is by Patrick Robinson. It has been described as being 'The greatest novel of submarine warfare since THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER'. I think so to although i have only read it 3/4 of the way through i told myself to write about it now. The only reason for this being the last book i wrote about well tried to i gave away the ending. So i said to myself read most of it but not the end then write. The main plot is about a United States Nimitz-Class aircraft carrier. Its cost is a mere $4 billion and has over 6,000 crew. However it dissaperars in what looks like a nuclear accident. Now think about it a 1,100 feet long warship thats ...  Read the complete review
