I bought this book on a whim at an airport bookshop, mainly because I'd got all the Tom Clancy and Dale Browns available. I'd say that it starts slowly with a lot of character introductions. Characters who are promptly killed, leading me to think "why bother showing us these people?". Don't read the first quarter of this book and then think the rest is like this - it isn't. Following this slow portion, the pace, (and the number of plot lines), increases. I love the blending of techno thriller, detective novel and love story, (small amount of the last). This book is by Patrick Robinson. It has been described as being 'The greatest novel of submarine warfare since THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER'. I think so to although i have only read it 3/4 of the way through i told myself to write about it now. The only reason for this being the last book i wrote about well tried to i gave away the ending.
