Premium Review Nobody Nowhere - Donna Williams: Breaking into the world of Autism (707 words)

Rating:

For years, Donna Williams struggled with herself. She understood less about herself than the unsympathetic world that surrounded her, but finally a word was given to her problems. Autism. This is quite an astounding book. It’s a minor miracle that it is here, and it should be read. For many people who suffer with Autism, they live in a secluded world, beyond the reach of those that care about them, and open to abuse from those that don’t. Rating:

If you have ever met anyone with autism, this book may just help you begin to understand what's going on in their heads. Rating:

Donna Williams is a woman who has grown up with autism, this story of her life tells of some of the problems that she faced and indeed faces in life. Nobody Nowhere is the first in a set of 3 books, telling how she became aware of her condition and eventually how she helped others to understand. It is written in a very powerful way, and it certainly gives an insight into an autistic 'world'. Perhaps helping those who know or work with people with autism. I found the book fairly easy to read, although sometimes dis-jointed. This is not a book really to be read for reseach purposes but it is ideal if you are interested in what life can ...  Read the complete review
