Another good book from the "Maiden Lane" series.

After reading and thoroughly enjoying one of the "Maiden Lane" books from Author Elizabeth Hoyt, i was pleased that i could locate another from the series in my local library (normally i find a new series i like and then have to wait months to get the next book!).

The book in question is - "Notorious pleasures".

Lady Hero Batten has been brought up to be the perfect lady, younger sister to a duke her sense of propriety and duty is second to none, with her even excepting an arranged marriage to the pleasant if slightly insipid Thomas Remmington, Marquis of Mandeville.
That is until Thomas' younger and completely scandalus brother Griffin comes on the scene, a rake and a cad, known for his daliances with married society ladies (she even initially meets him mid coitus!), but despite all of this she feels drawn to him......

Griffin has long been thought of as the black sheep of the family, and this suits him just fine, his older brother has the title of the family, but it is Griffin who has saved them from destitution, whilst his brother spends the money like water, then to top it all he finds himself infatuated with his brothers new fiance, the far to perfect Lady Batten, but surely this would be a seduction too far?

I enjoyed the first book i have read from the series, and this one didn't dissapoint either, full of intrigue's and seductions (this lot were a rather rude bunch if this book is anything to go by!), the book offers me everything i would expect from a "bodice ripper" type of romance book.

The lead charater Griffen is by his own definition a "rake (bad boy to you and me!), and everyone loves a bad boy done good, especially when it comes to a good romance, and he really doesn't dissapoint.

The character of Hero is a little more complicated, and completely frustrating, a seemingly self sufficient and independant lady, capable of her own thoughts and opinions, and she is still letting someone else arrange her marriage for her, and all the way through the book she seems to just go with the flow of things, even when you know she is dead set against the arrangements!

The book is of course a romance book, and what romance book would be complete without a good sex session (or five!), with them being relevant and completely erotic (my husband can never understand why i would rather read than watch the telly! Lol!).

This is a new romance book by a new author (to me!) and has so far been a worthy read, with there being at least four books within the series for my perusal, recommended!

      Thanks for reading x
