Blue Smoke - Nora Roberts
by Brooke3 - written on 05/11/08 (Very useful, 54 readings)
Rating:
was happening next because of the events taking place in the book but the way it was written just didn t make the reader feel involved. I felt that Nora Roberts described one particular scene, a violent sexual assault, in uneccesary detail and it made for extremely uncomfortable reading. Unfortunately that scene was the only scene in the book that provoked any emotion in me. Romance: Nora Roberts is a romance writer. When you pick up one of her books you expect romance. I m not saying that she should stick to just one genre but in this book it felt as though she was writing a half hearted romance story perhaps just for the fact that people expect romance from her. Nora Roberts in general

Rating:
undisputed queen of the romance novel. She certainly seems to be the yardstick by which other writers of romantic fiction are compared. Like many writers of romantic fiction, Nora Roberts honed her writing skills in the early 1980s in the field of category romance. Category romances are those shorter novels published by the likes of Silhouette and Mills & Boon. Many readers of romance seem to be quite snobby about Silhouette and Mills & Boon so have missed out on many of Nora Roberts excellent earlier books. It was whilst writing in this sub-genre that she introduced the reading public to one of her more famous families, the MacGregors. Strangely, ...

Carnal Innocence - Nora Roberts
A truly entertaining book! (147 words)by - written on 31/07/00
Rating:
I enjoyed it. Nora Roberts seemed to capture the pace of the South and she wrote an incredibly charming lead in Tucker. Tucker Longstreet is one of the most charming, likeable, sympathetic heroes in the history of romance fiction. Caroline was also a pretty good character but she was less fully developed than Tucker and even a ...
