Great historical fiction (Cornwall 1790 - 91) with varied sub-plots. The election sub-plot wasn't as gripping as the rest of the story.

Strong characters, well written, vivid description, good plot For once, none

Well written, emotional storyline, superb book Slightly hard to get into

Some interesting historical elements Too rushed, tries to be epic, never gets anywhere
