Discounted branded items and shopping direct from the manufacturer would seem to be the ideal way to obtain your shopping. Many people seem to share this philosophy, as the writers of "The Official Great British Factory Shop Guide" have discovered. They were onto their 74th edition the last time I looked. The book lists what seems to be all the factory and discount shops in the UK, detailing location, facilities, description of goods sold, opening times, etc. Some of the goods are of perfect quality, i.e. what they would sell in their high street shops, others are seconds.
