Advantages: You won't want it to end, great plot and characters
Disadvantages: None
As a massive fan of Catherine Alliot I'm working my way through all of her books and so far have not been disappointed and Olivia's Luck is no exception.
Olivia thinks she has it all, a loving husband, beautiful daughter and a dream house, until out of the blue her husband, Johnny, announces he is leaving and with no explanation is out the front door. Olivia is heartbroken and does not know how she is going to be able to cope without her dream man. She begins to hatch plans to try and win him back all the while coping with her daughter who has a teenage personailty at 10 years old and a team of mad builders currently working on her kitchen.
After Olivia begins to unravel the mystery of her husbands departure she realises he is not quite the dream boat she once thought. Will she move on with her life or continue to persue Johnny? Well you will have to read the book to find out as I don't want to spoil the whole story line!!!
The characters in this book are all very different and you never know what type of person you are about to meet next. I think this is great as it adds to the excitement and madness that this book is all about. Each character has enough description for you to place them within the story but still allowing you to really get involved in building the images in your own imagination whilst reading.
I would recommend this novel to anyone looking for a fun, light hearted book. If you haven't read any Catherine Alliot books then this is definitely one to read as it really is typical of her style and if you have read some of her books then go out and get this to add to your ever growing collection.
Summary: 10/10
