One Summer Night is a lesbian romance novel by Gerri Hill. Jo is embarrassed after a one night stand with Kelly, who she believes to be a player. When Kelly starts working at the same school as Jo she tries to be friendly and prove that she's not a player but can Jo move past her fears?
This is the second of Gerri Hill's novels that I have read and this novel was just as good as the first. I literally could not put this novel down. I found myself equally as drawn to both characters. I immediately related to Jo. She's quite serious and devoted to her career, which is something that I found easy to relate to and meeting Kelly really turns her world upside down. Throughout the novel I could really understand the difficulty that she had adjusting to having Kelly in her life. Kelly was a character who I found myself attracted to rather than relating to. I felt that this was a good combination in terms of keeping me hooked on this novel.
There are some hot sex scenes in this novel but it's never gratuitous. The romance is sweet, dramatic and sexy in equal measure. The characters seem to be perfectly matched and compliment each other so well. I found myself involved emotionally in this novel which I think is really good in a romance novel and is another reason that this novel gripped me completely throughout.
