I recently did a review on Jane Green one of my favourite authors and another one of mine is Jenny Colgan. Her latest book 'operation Sunshine' is not long out in paperback and I eventually got to read it a couple of days ago. The author: Jenny Colgan has brought out quite a few books in the Romance and chick lit category. All together she now has 8 books published and a further one planned for release next year in January. She lives in France with her husband and 2 sons. The story: The book follows Evie who is a receptionist for two plastic surgeons on famous Harley Street and who desperately wants to go on holiday and one in particular ...

I bought this book to take with me on holiday, as I found it in a 2 for £7 paperback deal at Tesco. The original reason for me being attracted to it was the front cover (I know I know, bad idea!), which in my edition is a sunny yellow with a simple print design and an embossed title in red/orange. What mainly grabbed my attention though was the recommendations by reivewers, magazines etc., particularly Heat magazine's, which described it as 'a perfect sun lounger read' - perfect for my holiday! This was a book I got for Christmas, one that I had asked for because it looked fun to read and it had received rave reviews. I think I should've chosen a different book. THE STORY -- Evie is a receptionist for a very prestigious cosmetic surgery business in London. She works for two doctors, Dr. Bennett who is a smooth talking, brown nosing surgeon, and Dr. Maitland, a reserved but friendly surgeon. She works just around the corner form Lydia, another receptionist for another cosmetic surgery business, just not quite as prestigious as Evie's. Evie thinks it's time she should arrange the holiday of a lifetime. Her previous holidays ...
