Operation Thunder Child - Nick Pope

When Alan Whitfield notices a strange return on his radar in the middle of the night it prompts him to start investigating other odd occurrences on radar screens across the country. Alan is convinced there is something there and convinces the Ministry of Defence to allow a couple of fighter planes to be scrambled the next time one of these returns is discovered to investigate. When this phenomenon next appears on their radar the jets are scrambled and all too quickly the British air force lose two fighters.
