 ... to follow for the less socially competent child. A child who is learning to read a bit later, at 5-7yrs perhaps, will understand what the story is getting at and read between the lines. The younger reader of 3-5yrs will need the story explaining at the turn of every page (they're being naughty aren't they little Jonny? Naughty Children is a level 2 book from the Oxford Reading Tree series. It's an early reader book that a lot of schools use for children of about reception class age (5yrs). In very basic terms, the story shows us two naughty children coming to visit a family. They're jumping off furniture and climbing up the curtains! But then one of the children whose home it is has an idea. On the next page, the naughty children are climbing up a scramble net and jumping off a playground log.
