Advantages: can find anything you need and helps with in what context

Disadvantages: it is a big book and you need to sometimes be patient

Anything that has been written by Oxford is definitely going to be full to the brim with everything you will ever need to know about the question in hand. Here, of course, is no exception.

This is not a book to aid you in learning Spanish but something to further your knowledge, understanding and wording of the language.

I have been teaching myself Spanish for around 6 months and the dictionary comes in extreme use. It helps with pronunciation and helps with using and understanding which words you use in certain cases. The dictionary itself is around the size of 3 quarters of the height of an A4 piece of paper but is a lot thicker.

It has a English to Spanish as well as the Spanish to English so you should never be lost for finding your words.

It is full of the weird and wonderful words not used much in day to day life. For instance I needed the word for maverick and ended up getting a greater understanding of the word as the Spanish see it as someone who purely does not set their ways to unconformity.

Over all it is a top class dictionary and lives up to its Oxford title
