This opinion is very long and some might say, indeed have said, tedious. Therefore I have summarised my conclusions first and then you have the choice to continue through the chapter by chapter review or not. The reason I have been rather harsh in my critique is because this 'field' is rife with misconception and as this is one of the few introductory books available I think it is important to clarify some of the claims made in the book.
