Chuck Palahnuik is probably most famously known for being the author of the cult classic, Fight Club. Apart from this, he has written several other novels including Choke, Survivor, Lullaby, Haunted, Invisible Monsters, Snuff and more! What I love about this author is his originality. He has a raw, vivid, graphic style of writing that really makes one engrossed in the book, to the point that you do not want to put it down. This to me is a great selling point for a book, and makes me go and buy more from the same author. It's Pronounced Pol-o-nik. But that's not the point. Palahniuk is one of the most important authors of modern time. His wit, his edge, his style. All very much of it's time, and all about something that is far deeper than it first appears. His writing is usually points toward self-destruction of some kind or another. Fight Club is self-destruction for the pursuit of find out what it is to be a man. Survivor is by the pursuit of fame and fortune.Invisible Monsters is the self-destruction is the name of vanity. Whichever way you decide to do things, either book first then film or vice-versa, Fight Club is well worth of look. Written by the new prized possession of Hollywood; Chuck Palahniuk, his utterly original creation of the relationship between Jack and Tyler Durden is breathtaking debut novel. Both film and book are worth a second glance, if only to notice the then quite obvious clues on how this complicated story ends. In his own words Chuck has said how the David Finchers film surpasses his original book, which is no mean feat. So don't delay pick up either version today.
