This is a magical book by Eric Carle, one of my favourite children's authors! ******** The Story ******** A little girl called Monica looks up at the moon but no matter how far she stretches she just can't reach it so she asks her father to get it for her. Being a doting father, he gets a very long ladder , carries it to a very high mountain and up and up he climbs until he reaches the moon. But the moon is much too big for him to take with him.
