I couldn,t believe my luck when I came across this wonderful autobiography, I had heard references to it, and even heard the interview Michael Crawford give on the This Morning programme some years ago. The title was the first thing which made me curious and if you read the book , he explains the reason for it. I have just finished reading what I consider to be one of the most enjoyable autobiographies I have ever come across. I have always enjoyed watching Michael Crawford on stage, cinema screen or television, and it was with a certain amount of trepidation that I started reading his book 'Parcel arrived safely- Tied with string'. Would it be a book tarnished with an overdose of sentimentality and 'luvvi-ness'? Or would it be an enjoyable read? Parcel arrived safely tied with string, strange title! The title was the code sent my Micheal's mother in a telegraph ( remember those ) to donate the arrival boy. This book is the biography of Micheal Crawford, if the author had remained annonyamous you could still have guessed the writer from the gentle humour in the style of writing.
