Advantages: Great Storyline, eccellently thought through

Disadvantages: Might be a touch slow for some peoples tastes

Classic Grisham is how I would sum up The Partner. The story involves a Partner of a firm realising he is on his way out whether he likes it or not. Before he gets the push he fakes his own death and steals a huge sum from the Partnership account.

The book opens in Brazil when the main charcter's (Patrick) past is about to catch up with him. He is caputred and tortured by people working on behalf of the Partnership who are trying to recover the money. Patrick has a woman in Brazil (Eva) who he has taught how to keep the money away from the authorities should he get caught. The story involves Patrick, Eva, the authorities and the Partnership's heavies trying to act within the law to see their own preferred outcome.

The story is released a little at a time and allows you to form your own opinions well in advance of finding out the facts, however there are so many twists that it is very difficult to see the ending.

I rate this as Grisham's best work and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone
