I always like to have a book to read and get most of my books from our local library. As I have three young children with me when I go to the library I don't really get to browse and usually rush round the adult books section whilst keeping one eye on the children's section. Unfortunately our library is only very small but as we are only a small village we are lucky to have it. This does mean that the choice available isn't great but I usually find something that looks interesting. I don't ask a lot from a book, just something mildly amusing with at least a bit of a story to it. I always chose my books by the look of the cover because I don't have time to read the ... *Perfect Strangers* is quite simply chick-lit...there is no other way to describe it! It was another of those 20p offerings from the local gala. I knew what I was buying - the quirky typeface and stars all over the front cover give the game away and it positively screams *I am going to be cheesy, but please read me anyway!*........so I did. The story revolves around Suze Wilding, a 32 year old Londoner, and Lloyd Rockwell who is aged 35 and lives in New York. Both work for Schneider Fox, a successful advertising agency, and are asked to do a job exchange. This means swapping jobs, homes, and friends for four weeks. I wish I had the ... This book is a wonderful way to spend a night. It is entertaining while not being too glib. It is interesting without being too complicated, and the characters are very likeable. This is definetely not your average romance. To me it felt like a great comedy on tv where you can spend a couple of hours in comfort and not have to face anything too unpleasant. It was well written with no problems at all. The story idea is inventive to say the least though not complicated enough to make you worry you have missed something.
