Published by Phaidon, and written by Ian Jeffrey, 'The Photography Book' is a large compilation of photographs costing £19.47 from Amazon (RRP £29.95). There is also a smaller paperback version available which retails at £5.56. Arranged alphabetically, each page houses a high-resolution print from each of the featured photographers. Ranging from Hans Aarsman to James van der Zee, the book really has something for everyone. Under each photographers name is a description of the photo, and an insight into why it was taken or 'set-up' in the way that it was. The sheer range of subjects found in this book of photographs makes it near impossible to describe without resorting to lists. Containing 500 images, this work spans time and space, bringing such a variety of images, shapes, colours, moods and emotions that it is makes impossible to read from start to finish - instead, you dip in time and again, finding something new every time. There are well-known photographers here: Annie Leibowitz, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Ansel Adams, Man Ray and Dorothea Lange to name but a few whose images are included.
