I have read a couple of novels by Richard Montanari and enjoyed them so was happy to see a copy of his latest, Play Dead, in the library. The novel features detectives Kevin Byrne and Jessica Balzano, they have been partners for some years now although Byrne is his usual enigmatic self and seems intent on keeping his partner at arms length. The storyline is very simple. While investigating a cold case Byrne and Balzano receive new information relating to the original crime, as is expected a serial killer is on the loose.
