The Baby's Catalogue - Allan Ahlberg
by i_am_joy - written on 07/08/08 (Very useful, 95 readings)
Rating:
Yet another book that came out of the bag of goodies sent round for my granddaughter by my neighbour was The Baby s Catalogue by Allan Ahlberg and I ve got to give it my neighbour, she certainly picks winners! This is another one that my 13 month old granddaughter instantly fell in love with and picks it up every time she is here for me to go through the book with her. The Baby s Catalogue is a picture book which shows everyday items in a fun and enjoyable setting. Pushchairs, toys, teapots and sweet animals are laid out in a similar way to a catalogue which leads to the obvious game of which one would you want? when I m sitting looking at the book with my ...

It s the story of a postman delivering letters to houses containing several nursery rhyme characters; such as Cinderella and Humpty Dumpty amongst a few. What makes this book stand out is the sheer interactiveness of it-every so many pages there is a letter on the back ...

Wow I completely totally forgot about this book and it has just bought back so many memories. As a child I actually remember it from being in little school it was one of my most favourite books to choose when it was reading time and we had to pick our own book to read to ourselves, I think it was everyone's favourite to be honest everyone wanted to pick it before anyone else. I also remember the disappointment when I couldn't find it in the book rack as someone else had picked it. The best bit about the book was going through the postman delivering his letters and each letter you could pull out of a little envelope and see what the letter looked like that he had ...
